[Kairi has placed neatly boxed formal wear outside each of their rooms. She picked the clothes out personally. Yes, this is Kairi's way of telling the three of them that she expects them to go to that Captain's strange mask party.

And to dress properly for it.]

[Jinx does just that. He opens the door then stares at that box for a good moment before finally picking it up. It's nicely wrapped and Jinx can actually say that it looks pretty.

He glances over the front and the back before finally taking it into his room and tossing it on his bed for later.]

What is it?

[Kairi almost manages not to sound wary of Jinx. She'd deliberately included him, after all. There's no use being daunted now.]

They're clothes, for the Captain's party.

[Jinx glances to that box again, still suspicious.]

Like formal clothes?

Yes: A tie, a shirt, some slacks.

Why don't you have a look?

Heh, I promise it's not a marshmallow bomb.

[Jinx would actually love to have a marshmallow bomb.

He finally opens the box only to find exactly what Kairi had promised. A dark grey tuxedo, a dark green satin waist coat, and a green bow tie. It's complete with a comfy pair of slacks.]

Looks good, Red. Hopefully I can get 'em on right.

Don't get them dirty before the party, okay?

[She pauses, but figures he can only refuse.]

And take a shower first!

[He doesn't even plan to try it on until the party.]

I'll see if I can figure th' tie out. Where's it supposed ta' go anyway?

So like a scarf. Why don't I just wear my scarf, it'd be much easier.

Oh, no! You can't wear a red scarf with a green suit - heh - not unless it's Christmas.

And then you'd have to wash it.

[What are Christmas? It must be 'Christmas' every day because Jinx just loves pairing that scarf with his army green tank top.

And what's with all this washing business? Jinx is so confused.]

Uhh...okay, Red. What should I do?

Well... We need to find someone who can tie a bow tie.

Oh! And don't forget to pick a mask!

[She stumbles over the response. She hadn't known how Xanth would react. Springing this on him probably hadn't been the smartest idea, but she didn't want to ask him and have another big misunderstanding.

This way, if he was hurt or mad, he could have just ignored her. But he didn't.]

[Kairi doesn't respond. Or rather, Kairi doesn't broadcast a response.

Instead she clutches her communicator, beaming at it. And she starts to hope that maybe - just maybe - everything will be okay.]

[As instructed, Riku looks outside and takes the box in, opening it up and shaking his head as he pulls out the contents. Inside is this outfit basically, with a black tie.

He should have really expected something like this after Redd's post. So if Kairi's really doing this, then have a mischievous question.]

So how many guys are you planning on taking to this thing, Kairi? People are gonna start talking, you know.

[Kairi has a harem! Or is whatever the female equivalent of a pimp is~]

[Kairi giggles and responds in kind.]

Oh? It sounds like you already have. Who said I was taking anyone?

[Kairi would happily play match-maker for Riku any time, if she thought he'd let her get away with it.]
