[And Kloe is there in less than five minutes, bag in hand.

[Kairi opens the door, her left sleeve already rolled up to the shoulder. She'd only tried to hide it from Riku. There was no point hiding when she was asking for help.

The lower part of her upper arm seems red and inflamed, and there is a more pronounced, blistery swelling discoloured with infection.

Kairi's pointedly avoiding looking at it.]

So, what was your name?

Doctor Kloe Bishop.

[Kloe eyes Kairi's arm and shoos her back inside.]

Go sit down.

Okay.

[Kairi simply does as she's told, perching on the edge of her bed and watching the doctor carefully. She doesn't know this person. Hopefully Doctor Bishop won't try to leech her.]

What are you going to do?

Clean it. Bandage it.

[That's the gist, anyway.

Kloe walks over, kneels, and sets down her bag.]

You didn't think to get this checked earlier?

[Or at least find a band-aid somewhere? Jeez.

Kloe opens her bag and digs out whatever she thinks they'll need. She's low on supplies, man. She'll need to make a trip to the infirmary or something.]

Have you experienced any fevers?

[She shakes her head.]

I haven't had a fever. And I've never had trouble with scrapes before.

[All those times she'd skinned her knees or elbows from jumping down a too-high ledge or been cut while forcing her way through brush... She'd never had an infection.]

Yeah? Well this place doesn't seem exactly sanitary. The next time you receive an injury, small or not, you go to me or the local doctor. There's an infirmary in the great hall if you weren't aware.

[I am a doctor. Let me lecture you.]

With the looks of this place, you could catch a flesh-eating disease if you're not careful.

[Kloe pulls on a pair of gloves (her last pair, unfortunately) and grabs Kairi's arm so she can look at it better.]

Don't move.

[She picks up a small, plastic-looking bowl and stands, disappearing inside the bathroom for a split second to fill it with water. It's probably anything but sterile, but it'll do. She has soap and other things anyway.

When she returns, she puts the bowl down and sets off to clean the infected area. It might hurt. Kloe isn't exactly a gentle doctor, but she's efficient.]

[Kairi is still staring after Kloe when she returns. What did she mean by-,]

Flesh ea-ah!

[She bites down on her lip to stop herself from saying anything else. The spot is tender, more tender than she expected to be. It isn't the worst pain in the worlds and she can handle it, but she did wish she'd had a little bit of warning first.]
