[There is a brief silence before clattering and static, as though the communicator has just been dropped from a fair height. Then a thud, some more static, and panting breath.]
I've climbed that tree every day for a month and-...
And it's never been like that!
[Her voice sounds pinched and higher in pitch than normal. Her breathing steadies, but she's unable to suppress a pained sigh. There is more shuffling, then the sound of sneakers walking along the deck.]
I think it - the forest - I think it might be affected. I thought it would be safe...
It's not. Just... Chaaah! Be careful, if you go in there. This... really stings.
