12th Light - [Audio/Common]
When I was little, my grandmother used to tell me a story.
It was about the world disappearing, and being rebuilt in the hearts of children.
It said that no matter how deep the darkness, there would always be light to guide us. And as long as we believed in that, we could never be beaten.
[There is a long silence.]
Do you think it's true here?

I'm not either. But... You can't give up.
People are counting on you, to try at least.
[So no pressure or anything, Marco.]

I'm not so sure I believe in 'light' and 'darkness,' but you're right. If we give up, the fight is over before it even begins.

[Oh wait! Does he mean literally?]
On my world, light and dark are... very real. But the same kind of darkness hasn't found this world. It's more like a metaphor here, I guess, for what people are like, or how bad things can get.
[Unless he means he doesn't believe in good and evil at all... Wow. Kairi doesn't really want to think about that.]

Mm...things are never very clear in my world. I'm not sure how blurry they are here.

The Captain isn't a good person.
[To her at least, that is now crystal clear.]

*Of course 'seems' isn't always 'is,' but Marco really doesn't want to think about what sort of circumstances would make what Redd does 'good.'*

[Now is she talking about Riku or Jinx or no-one at all?]
no subject
*Nup, he's not talking about either of them*
Bad people could end up on the wrong side too...

[Or at least, not-bad things. Vuvuzelas and pasta necklaces are all pretty harmless.]
And people - passengers - make mistakes.
Heh, you're right. It's not clear here.
[The 'but' at the end of that sentence is all but audible. She chooses to continue believing the best in people. She always will.]
