When I was little, my grandmother used to tell me a story.

It was about the world disappearing, and being rebuilt in the hearts of children.

It said that no matter how deep the darkness, there would always be light to guide us. And as long as we believed in that, we could never be beaten.

[There is a long silence.]

Do you think it's true here?

I'm not so sure I believe in 'light' and 'darkness,' but you're right. If we give up, the fight is over before it even begins.

On my world, light and dark are... very real. But the same kind of darkness hasn't found this world. It's more like a metaphor here, I guess, for what people are like, or how bad things can get.

[Unless he means he doesn't believe in good and evil at all... Wow. Kairi doesn't really want to think about that.]

Yeah, I mean between the passengers. It seems pretty clear that Redd's not a 'good guy' in any form.

*Of course 'seems' isn't always 'is,' but Marco really doesn't want to think about what sort of circumstances would make what Redd does 'good.'*

But wouldn't that make them bad people? If they're doing bad things, it must wear off on them.

Maybe, I guess. The Captain can do good things.

[Or at least, not-bad things. Vuvuzelas and pasta necklaces are all pretty harmless.]

And people - passengers - make mistakes.
