Heh. Some orange juice and a lemon, please? I don't think ice-cream and milk will taste good with oranges.

[Meanwhile, Kairi's going to sneak over to The Bazaar, real quick.

O-Oh, uhm, o-- okay.

W-where is the co--coffee shop?

[Kairi is messing around between shelves of doritos and m&ms and takes a moment to respond.]

Huh? Oh! It's on deck eight, near the casino.

[Triumph! She has found what she's looking for.]

K-- Kairi?

Here!

[Kairi appears, grinning and with a clean blender at hand. She sets it on the counter next to a paring knife and a couple of manual juicers she managed to find.

Her gaze almost immediately fixes on the bag of fruit.]

Oh, you didn't have to get all that!

[But she's certainly glad he did.]

Here - heh - I'll trade you.

[And she holds out a pastel-pink bag of pink and white marshmallows.]

O-Okay, sure!

[Kairi takes the lemon, cuts it in half and starts squishing the juice out.

One of the machines behind her could probably do it in a couple of seconds, but she's not exactly sure which one and some of them look like they would take her hand with the fruit so she'll just stick with her little plastic juicer for now.

She looks up mid-squish to see Xanth looking at the marshmallow bag.]

You said you'd never tried them. They're marshmallows.

They're better roasted, but that's how they are usually.

[One lemon-half done. Into the blender the juice goes. Then on to lemon-half two.]

Th--thanks, Kairi.

B-But... why a-are they p-- pink?

Hmm?

[Kairi is pouring orange juice into the blender. Measuring is for people who are not making things up as they go along.]

Oh, they're not always. Sometimes they're yellow or blue. It's not real colour. If you look on the-.

Well, um... They just get dyed that way to make them look more interesting.

[She can't help smiling as she watches Xanth stare down the marshmallow. It's nice, sharing this sort of thing. It's nicer than sharing heartless or darkness or lost worlds... Yeah that dampened her smile a little.

She reaches out, takes a marshmallow and pops it into her mouth.]

Th-that's... different.

[Kairi is trying to start peeling an orange with her nails without getting juice everywhere.]

Heh, they probably taste weird if you're not used to that kind of thing. They're better roasted anyway.

[Got it! There's still juice on the counter and her hands though. Oh well.]

They crust on the outside and melt in the middle. It's fun. They do get hot though. You have to be careful.

Hey, did you still want to go camping?

Hmm.

O-oh, uh, yeah! W-We can d-do that-- d-do it whenever. W-Whenever it's-- it's g-good for you, I-I mean.

[Kairi starts cutting her orange up, pulling out any seeds she finds as she goes.]

Hehe, okay. Renna had a tent last time. But we could probably invite more people and all just sleep under the stars, if the forest's back to normal.

Unless you want to try the meadow or the caves instead?

[Camping in a cave would be different, but creepy. The meadow would be nice, but there's nothing like an open sky.]

U-Uhm... th-the forest i-is good, if-- if it's a-all normal ag--again. I-I know that-- that the uh, the, the meadow is... i-it's still g-got a f-few graves, h... here and there.

Oh, that's a shame.

Oh well! The forest it is. Heh. At least there are no giant fish in the stream up there.

[Kairi starts chopping up the second orange.]

So we'll need matches and ... I guess we could just bring snacks and get food from the buffet. But I don't think the crew would be too happy if we broke anything, heh. What do you think?

[Oranges go into the blender. Kairi frowns at it. Right now, it will just end up as extra-thick orange juice, which would be kind of nice but boring. Hmmm... What can she add?]

Uhm...

I-I... well, we'd need b-blankets, or-- or beds o-or something, c-cause... sleeping o-on dirt i-is, uh, un-- unpleasant. But uhm... a-as for food, I-I think what-- what you said is, is good.

U-uhm... I, uh, I-- I once h-had a smoothie-- I-I think was... ice cream? A-And, the oranges in it? I-It was good.

[Kairi's still frowning at the blender. Orange and dairy doesn't seem right. But neither does anything else she's got on hand, so she'll go with it.]

Well... Okay.

[And a scoop of ice cream and some milk go into the blender. Kairi puts the lid on and starts it. She's not going to try shouting over it, but it's done pretty soon and she pours a glass for Xanth.]

I hope it's okay...

I-I bet it's good!

H-Hey, it is! Y-You, uh, you-- you should t-try it.

Heh, thanks. But I had a lot of the mango already.

And I thought people could bring their own bedding. There are mats in the gym but - heh - I don't think we could move them.

Unless you want to try making hammocks!

If people bring their own blankets, then there'll be enough. I don't know where we'd find spares. We could ask the Stewardess but... Heh, she's a little strange.

[Yes, Kairi is a little unnerved by the Stewardess. She was polite. She was efficient. She was decidedly crew-like.]

[Kairi absently picks up the seedless strawberry-like berries and begins examining them. She's never seen them before.]

I don't know her name. 'Stewardess' sounds nicer than 'maid.' She came to clean up my room after the Captain's necklace turned into jello... She wasn't very friendly.

[Her mind made up, Kairi pulls one of the berries from its stalk and eats it.

It's different. But a moment later, she smiles and decides she likes it. She offers the bunch to Xanth.]

Do you want one?
