2nd Light - Craft Time [Voice/Common]
[Kairi's sitting on a branch that overhangs the pool on deck 3. She hesitates, and as though prompting her, the comm squirts water at her. It starts recording in time to catch her laughter.]
OK! I'm doing it!
Does anyone know where I can find shells on board? Or know anything about drying out nuts and seeds?
I like making charms and things out of them. Back home they're lucky for sailors and well, we are on a boat.
[She goes to close the connection, but then adds.]
Oh, and if anybody still has those pasta necklaces the Captain gave out and doesn't want them anymore, could I have them?
[If she can't find any good string, a good supply of dental floss would have to do.]

I still have a necklace as well, if you'd like it.
[She just took it off and threw it on her desk.]
no subject
Oh! Yes, thankyou. I can come by and get it if that's easiest for you.
[Kairi's still wearing hers, wrapped securely around her wrist so that she doesn't lose it more than anything else.]
no subject
I can bring it to you - I am not busy right now.
no subject
Oh, ok, thanks. I'm on deck 3. And I'm Kairi, by the way.
no subject
I'm Rfena, though you may also call me Reffy. I'll be there soon.
[She grabs the necklace off her desk and, making sure she has her room key, heads up to Deck 3. Have a tall red-headed woman looking for you, Kairi!]
no subject
Hello. Are you Rfena?
no subject
Yes. You would be Kairi, then, I take it?

[She chuckles.]
I guess they weren't very lucky.

Thanks uh... What was your name again?
no subject
[It would probably fit on a girl's wrist, actually.]
no subject
Um... Why's it tiny?

[She feels like she's touched on an awkward point.]
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry.

I guess you'd have to cook them to eat them, right?

I was just going to see what I could find in the forest. Can I ask again about what I've found when I'm done?
Even if they don't work out, they'll still taste good, right?
no subject
Let me see before you eat any of them though. ...unless you know what you're doing, of course.
no subject
Good advice. On this boat, food poisoning probably makes you sprout bamboo from your ears.
no subject
Maybe. Good luck with your gathering, then.

There once was a time when I could look upon a small collection of marbles and things... [Made of his own bone and horns, but he won't mention that.] It's a sad realization that such small pieces of strange beauty did not follow me here.
Good luck charms are for those without luck or with the wrong luck. Are you burdened with such luck, miss?
no subject
I don't think I'm unlucky. Bad things happen to everyone. Good luck charms help me stay positive. But it doesn't sound like they work for you.
no subject
So far, I've had good luck upon this ship, considering the circumstances. However, I've never had a good luck charm...
If I brought you some materials... would you create one for me?
no subject
And, considering the circumstances?
no subject
...
Some unfortunate things happened when I first woke upon this vessel but some people actually took the time to assisted me. It was quite a nice change for once.
no subject
Uh, what's your name?
[She can't really tell if she's talking to a boy or a girl. And well, different things suit different people.]
I'm Kairi.
I'm glad they helped you. There are a lot of nice people here, even if it doesn't always seem like it.
no subject
It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Kairi. I'm Duke. Duke Alla D'Aubergine.
Seems more ice people than not, upon this vessel.
[And, his voice goes back to its normal hiss, a bit sad sounding]
I apologize. I may not have the marbles and materials ready for you for a few days. I have to make them, you see. However, I shall contact you via this contraption, somehow, when I have them ready for you. I do hope they're to your liking, Miss Kairi.
no subject
Likewise, Duke Alla.
And I like to think so.
[Why bring up all the sadness and death that people were talking about when she first got here? Things have been so much brighter since then.]
That's fine. I'm going to need to find some extra things anyway, so no need to hurry. I'll talk to you then!
no subject
[Oh, yes he seems much happier now]
Thank you. You're a very kind. Until then, please keep safe.
