[Kairi has been listening to the comm for a while now. Having awoken in a strange room, it took her a few minutes to remember the circumstances which must have brought her there. And now, with all the chatter about violence and sorrow, she’s certain; she’s not on her island any more.]

Um, hello?

What world is this?

Or is this a vessel that travels between worlds?

[It doesn’t look like a gummi ship. But then she knows as much about gummis as she does about this strange communication device.

There’s a pause and then a sigh. It can’t hurt to ask, can it?]

Sora? Riku? Are you here?

Sora, you say? I met a boy with that name not seven months ago. Had an interest in poetry, if I remember correctly.

[She had sent poetry in a bottle to Sora... But she never remembered him liking it when they were young. Still, it could be him.]

Did he have spiky brown hair and a large key?

He certainly was. Which only begs the question, "Where is it he has gone?"

If he left, he should be able to come back. Shouldn't he? If he left, there must be a way off the boat.

One would assume as much, but one would also assume that a boat with such a high population would need to make dock more than once a year, and that new passengers would not arrive despite no sight of any other vessel for months, and that a bobcat would not prefer quail to pheasant.

What have we learned here? There's no accounting for others, especially when game birds are involved.

[Kairi takes a minute to digest all of that. Sure, it made sense. It just ran off track towards the end there. And then she giggles.]

Were the bobcat and the game birds a personal experience?

If it were, my girl, a more magical world this would be. Bobcats, though, tend not to be sociable. They stick only to their holes, tending only to their mates, and investing only in long-term bonds.
