10th ♥ [Audio/Commentlog]

Who said something about bass spawning soon?

[Kairi's voice sounds a little distant, and there's the lapping sound of water against a boat's side.]

Does anyone else know about - Oh! - About fishing in the cold? No, come back!

[She doesn't really have hands free to search the journal herself right now.]

It broke my line again.

[Kairi can be found out on the lake, piled under blankets, with a makeshift fishing pole and a bucket full of worms. She's caught a few weedy little things.

She wants to catch a big one!]

That was me.

But that's the bass back home, I don't know about here. It depends on the species.

And I don't know anything about fishing with a string.

Fish move slow when it's cold. If you're gonna lure them in, you've gotta move slow, too.

You'd probably be more successful if you could just hunt them like normal.

In the water. With your claws. If you have claws.

[He pauses for a second. Then:]

You probably don't have claws.

Yeah. The fish are too deep right now for nets.

A bit. The water's fine, it's just too cold when I get out of it. Can't get dry fast enough, makes this body sick.

Need any help there? I haven't been fishing in a while and I don't want my skills to get rusty.

Company I can definitely do. Fishing alone is nice, but isn't it always more fun when there's someone else with you?

[Te Ata hmms thoughtfully.]

You could try shortening the line. Either that or trying folding the line so the weight rests on two lines instead of one.

[She arrives at the lake and looks around for Kairi.]

bffpoltergeist: (Curious)

Videoooo - as always, you're choice if Kairi can see her or not, or if that fluctuates

[personal profile] bffpoltergeist 2012-03-03 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it was, like, Ezra that said that, buuuuuut... I see that he told you that already. So, um... Hi! I don't think I've, like, met you yet and I try to, like, meet everyone, you know? I'm Liz!

[She waves, but her smile wilts a bit when she figures that Kairi might not even be able to see her currently. Being a ghost sucked sometimes. :(

BUT SHE PERSEVERES!!]

Did you, like, fish back home?

[Liz knows next to nothing about the outdoors, but she's interested and that counts, right?]
bffpoltergeist: (Relaxed)

[personal profile] bffpoltergeist 2012-03-03 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi, Kairi! It's, like, nice to meet you!

[And Liz sounds completely genuine about this. She then purses her lips in thought, head tilting slightly to one side.]

Well, there are, like, some species that live in the cold, I think. Ummm... maybe... I think they, like, had that on National Geographic. Or they, like, hibernate...

[She trails off and then gives a shrug, returning the giggle with one in kind.]

I don't think it's like, just here at the Keep, though. I mean... people fish in, like, Alaska and that's the arctic... whales too.

[LOL... Liz tends to presume people know what she's talking about.]
bffpoltergeist: (Default)

[personal profile] bffpoltergeist 2012-03-11 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Liz nods without second thought.]

Yeah, the arctic... it's, like, way up north and super cold. Parts of, like, Alaska and Canada make it up, you know? I watched this special once where they, like, cut a big hole in the ice to go fishing in the winter.

It was pretty awesome, really! I think, like, it could be super cold, but super fun.

Did you have to cut through the ice?
